Grow Pediatric Epilepsy Services Within a Comprehensive Child Neurology Practice

The Section of Child Neurology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Epileptologist to join our expanding program at Children's Hospital Colorado - Colorado Springs.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an epileptologist who values meaningful clinical work, collaborative practice, and the chance to influence the growth of a young but rapidly developing program.

Shape the Future of Pediatric Epilepsy Care

This is a clinically focused position within a dynamic regional referral center, offering:

         A strong emphasis on pediatric epilepsy care, including EMU and EEG interpretation

         Participation in general outpatient child neurology, creating a balanced and varied caseload

         A welcoming environment for new fellowship graduates and seasoned epileptologists alike

Key Responsibilities:

         Outpatient child neurology and pediatric epilepsy management

         EMU coverage and EEG interpretation

         Inpatient neurology consultation

         Weekend Epilepsy and Inpatient call

         Participation of education of medical students, residents, fellows

         Participation in quality improvement programs

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Colorado Springs, CO.

The Colorado Springs Neurology program is supported by three epileptologists, two child neurologists, four advanced practice providers and a robust multidisciplinary team including dedicated nursing, experienced EEG technologists, social work, health navigators, dietitians, and integrated pediatric psychology services, allowing physicians to focus on high-level clinical care

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

Assistant Professor

  • 0 - 6 years of experience as an attending physician (assistant professor)

         MD or DO from an accredited institution

         Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology (ABPN)

         Completion of ACGME-accredited fellowship in Epilepsy or Clinical Neurophysiology

         Board Certified or Board Eligible in Epilepsy or Clinical Neurophysiology (ABPN)

         Eligibility for Colorado medical licensure

         Eligibility for DEA certification

Associate Professor

  • 7 or more years of experience as an attending physician and academic qualifications to fulfill requirements of associate professor rank

         MD or DO from an accredited institution

         Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology (ABPN)

         Completion of ACGME-accredited fellowship in Epilepsy or Clinical Neurophysiology

         Board Certified or Board Eligible in Epilepsy or Clinical Neurophysiology (ABPN)

         Eligibility for Colorado medical licensure

         Eligibility for DEA certification

Condition of Employment:

         Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado

         Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  Previous experience independently practicing Child Neurology or Epilepsy

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

       Willing to collaborate with the medical team to provide the highest quality of care to patients and their families.

       Ability to diagnose and treat patients with neurological diagnoses.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Assistant Professor: $235,000 to $249,000 

Associate Professor: $250,000 to $280,000 

The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
