GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Manufacturing painters are responsible for applying paints and coatings according to provided instructions, procedures, and specifications to a variety of materials and surfaces. Painters are responsible for delivering quality parts compliant with all requirements and reporting issues and needs clearly.
RESPONSIBILITIES1.Paint Departmenta)Read and interpret travelers, prints, and instructions on color, gloss, texture, and maskingb)Prepare paint and coatings and use equipment to implement proper mix ratiosc)Track and place orders for material in response to inventory levelsd)Control material costs by maximizing efficiency and material usagee)Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs2.Quality Assurancea)Inspect parts prior to processing and report defects accordinglyb)Monitor parts throughout the paint process to ensure delivery of quality partsc)Adhere to regulatory, safety, customer, and internal guidelines for material handlingd)Maintain clean, orderly, and organized work areae)Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience with HVLP painting and auto body work is preferred
  • Knowledge of paint formulation or color matching systems is preferred
  • Prior knowledge or experience is not a direct requirement, training will be provided as needed
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Manual dexterity
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift over 50 pounds and lifting above the shoulders, hand and arm motion, and kneeling and stooping frequently
  • Ability to work in an environment which consists of exposure to fumes and chemicals as well as moderate noise
