SECURITY GUARD:
The primary purpose of the Security Guard is to provide protection of property and people by conducting routine patrols, monitoring all areas of the site and surveillance systems, controlling access points, responding to incidents, and enforcing rules to deter criminal or problematic activity and ensure safety.

The impact you'll make:
  • Patrol the community grounds and inside the building to deter criminal activity and ensure the safety of residents and staff.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and equipment to detect suspicious activity or breaches.
  • Inspect buildings, equipment, and access points to identify potential security issues or malfunctions.
  • Respond promptly to alarms, including fire alarms, and other emergency calls, following established protocols.
  • Assist with disaster management and evacuations during emergencies like fires.
  • Monitor and control the entry and exit of residents, visitors, and vendors.
  • Greet visitors and log them in and out of the community according to established procedures.
  • Investigate and report any suspicious activity, accidents, or incidents that occur during a shift.
  • Complete and submit detailed incident reports and document observations for management.
  • Provide assistance and information to residents and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Respond to calls for assistance or take messages when appropriate.
  • Maintain familiarity with and monitor emergency and safety equipment, including security systems and communication devices.
  • Help in maintaining a clean and presentable exterior/entry area
  • Reports any issues or problems that may arise to the appropriate Director and/or Administrator
  • Complies with state, federal, and all other applicable health care and safety standards
  • Assists families and other visitors as needed
  • Attends/completes required in-services and other required meetings
  • Completes online training as assigned in order to maintain company, state, and federal compliance
  • Performs other duties as directed
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous security, military, or police experience is often preferred.
  • Strong people skills, good communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in various situations.
  • Familiarity with security systems and emergency protocols.
