Job description

We are looking for an Editorial Intern with a strong passion for photography, short-form video, and visual storytelling. As a photo and video intern at The FADER, you will work closely with our video and editorial team to create compelling visual assets for web, print, and social platforms. You'll learn how The FADER conceptualizes, shoots, edits, and visually packages our stories.


Key Responsibilities

  • You'll assist the editorial and social team in editing, color-grading, and formatting photos and videos for web features, cover stories, and social platforms
  • You'll help shoot and edit short-form video content for The FADER's TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts
  • You'll have the opportunity to assist on photo and video shoots, and potentially cover live events and concerts on behalf of The FADER


Qualifications

  • You're currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program studying Photography, Film/Video Production, Visual Arts, Journalism, Media Studies, or a closely related field
  • You have proficiency in photo and video editing software (Adobe Creative Cloud: Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, and/or After Effects)
  • You meet deadlines, pay strong attention to detail, and possesses an eye for framing, color, and visual storytelling
  • You have a curiosity about music and culture across genres
