Job description

A postdoctoral training position is available in the laboratory of W. Lee Kraus, in the Cecil H. and Ida Green Center for Reproductive Biology Sciences at UT Southwestern Medical Center. We are seeking highly motivated candidates to investigate fundamental mechanisms of signaling and gene regulation, with a particular emphasis on transcriptional control, chromatin dynamics, and functional genomics in physiology and diseases.

Our laboratory is interested in a wide variety of model systems and experimental approaches, including biochemistry, molecular biology, structural biology, animal models, genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics, and computational biology to uncover how signaling pathways control gene expression programs, spanning multiple interconnected areas: (1) signaling by NAD+ and steroid hormones; (2) ADP-ribosylation and the PARP enzymes that catalyze this modification in transcription, translation, chromatin dynamics, and RNA biology; (3) enhancer function and enhancer RNA regulation in gene activation; (4) RNA-based mechanisms in nuclear signaling and gene regulation; and (5) systems-level approaches to map signaling-gene regulation networks across the genome and transcriptome, with applications to cancer, metabolism, development, and a variety of human diseases. This position offers the opportunity to lead innovative, high-impact projects in a collaborative and well-resourced research environment at UT Southwestern.

Candidates must hold a recent Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree. We are particularly interested in applicants with experience in gene regulation, genomics, chromatin biology, molecular biology, cell biology, and related fields. Expertise in next-generation sequencing approaches (e.g., RNA-seq, ChIP-seq), genome editing, or computational genomics is highly desirable. A strong record of productivity, including publications in peer-reviewed journals, is expected.
