Job Title: Mechanical Designer

Job Description

The Mechanical Designer will provide CAD drafting support and develop detailed drawings and schematics based on specifications, layouts, blueprints, and conceptual sketches. This role involves using computer-aided design software, engineering standards, and established drafting techniques to produce accurate and compliant technical drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide CAD drafting support for the development of detailed drawings and schematics.
  • Develop components for the thermal protection system for missiles, ensuring manufacturability at scale.
  • Utilize computer-aided design software and established drafting techniques to produce accurate technical drawings.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and structural teams to ensure units are buildable and manufacturable.

Essential Skills

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, specifically piping experience.
  • Proficiency in Solidworks and CAD software.
  • Experience with missile systems and mechanical design.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret DoD Clearance.
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with configuration management software and Product Data Management (PDM).
  • Prior missile design experience.
  • Knowledge of similar CAD tools to Solidworks.

Work Environment

The position is onsite in Huntsville, AL, with a flexible work schedule but core hours from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 3 PM. You will work in a small but rapidly growing company with about 50 total employees.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntsville, AL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $61.00/hr.
