Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center is seeking Board-Certified Gastroenterologists for ongoing weekend call coverage. This is a great opportunity to join a well-supported GI service line with consistent, predictable scheduling and a steady case mix.

Assignment Overview

Reason for Coverage: Lack of weekend GI coverage
Practice Setting: Hospital call Saturday & Sunday (Fri 5p Mon 7a)
Clinical Areas: Adult GI, Hospital, Clinic
EMR: Epic
Estimated Credentialing: 90 days

Required Procedures / Duties
  • Esophageal Dilatation / Manometry & Interpretation

  • Small Bowel Biopsy

  • Lower GI Endoscopy, Sigmoidoscopy, Colonoscopy

  • Liver Biopsy

  • Sengstaken/Blakemore Tube insertion & management

  • EUS (preferred)

  • ERCP - required

  • Upper GI Endoscopy, including:

    • Biopsy

    • Foreign body removal

    • Cautery/laser

    • Variceal injection/banding

    • Therapeutic/diagnostic ERCP

    • PEG placement

Average: 8 procedures per weekend (mix of GSI, Hepatology, RGA, Surgery, Colon, EGD, ERCP)

Candidate Requirements
  • Board Certified Required

  • Active Virginia License Required

  • ERCP competent Required

  • EUS experience Preferred

  • Flu shot Required

  • COVID vaccine Highly Preferred

  • Clean malpractice for temp privileges Required

  • Must commit to specific open dates to be considered
