Job Summary
Collaborates to develop a program of recruitment and training of volunteers, coordinates their assignments with the members of the Interdisciplinary team and supervises their work.
Essential Functions
  • All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.
  • Keeps team members informed and actively participates in interdisciplinary conferences and meetings.
  • Assigns, oversees and evaluates the work/care delivered by patient care and office volunteers.
  • Cultivates an ongoing relationship with the volunteer organizations in the community
  • Recruits volunteers
  • Promotes accurate interpretation of others' needs, concerns, motivation and feelings.
  • Monitors and evaluates volunteer assignments and the effectiveness of the volunteer in providing assigned services.
  • Ensures that documentation of volunteer services is recorded and tabulated correctly.
  • Arranges orientation and continuing education for volunteers and arranges for specific training, based upon a patient specific need prior to making the assignment.
  • Participates in review of quality data and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepares reports of volunteer activities and volunteer hours of service.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
  • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements
  • Education - High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience - No experience required. One (1) year experience working with volunteers preferred.

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
  • A valid driver's license; an acceptable motor vehicle record, as defined by the Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Chart; and proof of auto insurance.
