Job description

Junior Collision Estimator

The Royal Automotive Group Collision Centers are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Collision Estimator to join our team.

The Junior Estimator is responsible for supporting the estimating team by learning to inspect vehicle damage, prepare repair estimates, communicate with customers and insurance partners, and assist with the repair planning process. This position is designed for someone looking to build a long-term career in collision, estimating through hands-on training and mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in inspecting damaged vehicles to identify visible structural, body, mechanical, and interior damage.
  • Support senior estimators in preparing repair estimates and documenting vehicle damage.
  • Learn to identify repair versus replacement opportunities for damaged components.
  • Assist with researching and ordering OEM, LKQ, and aftermarket parts.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, photos, and repair records.
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding repair status and scheduling updates.
  • Assist with insurance claim documentation and communication as directed.
  • Review repair plans with estimators, technicians, and management to ensure accuracy.
  • Learn estimating software and collision repair procedures.
  • Follow company, insurance, and manufacturer guidelines throughout the repair process.
  • Provide exceptional customer service consistent with Royal Automotive Group's family-oriented culture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous automotive, collision repair, customer service, parts, service advisor, or related experience preferred but not required.
  • Vocational training, technical school education, or coursework in automotive technology is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn estimating software.
  • Passion for the automotive and collision repair industry.
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles preferred but not required.
