DescriptionChildren's Center Student Worker (Federal Student Worker 2025-26)
Students working as a federal student worker for the Children's Center may be assigned to their site or on the Taft College main campus. Students will be required to read to children, manage spaces, materials, and activities related to literacy development.
Duties include:
- Assist the Child Development Center Director in organizing books and literacy materials for the Children's Library.
- Assist teachers in organizing books and other literacy materials.
- Manage and clean the Children's Library and Adult Student Resource Room, including checking-out materials to adults.
- Read and support children's learning.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimal Qualifications:
- Must be a current Taft College student enrolled in 6 or more units.
- Must be currently in good standing with a GPA of 2.0 or above.
- Must be eligible for Federal Financial Aid.
Children Center Hours:
Mon-Fri: 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Weekends: Closed

- Annual Pesticide Notification
- Basic Pest Control Management (Healthy Schools Act)

- Influenza or waiver (within 1 year)
- Statement of Good Health
- Confidentiality Agreement
