What does a college program coordinator do?

A College Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing specific academic or extracurricular programs within a college or university. Their duties often include coordinating events, managing program budgets, supporting students and faculty, and ensuring that program goals are met. They also act as a liaison between departments, students, and external partners to facilitate program success. The role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a college program coordinator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a College Program Coordinator, you need expertise in program planning, student advising, and knowledge of higher education policies, typically supported by a bachelor’s or master’s degree in education or a related field. Familiarity with student information systems, event management software, and data tracking tools is commonly required.
