Key Responsibilities
Juniata invites applications for the part-time position of Assistant Men's and Women's Golf Coach.
The Assistant Men's and Women's Golf Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in the administration of all aspects of the golf program including but not limited to coaching and teaching of students, recruiting, game and practice preparation and execution, fund-raising/friend raising, budget management, compliance with NCAA and conference rules/regulations, participation as a member of the College community and collaborative departmental functions as needed. Serves as the program's media coordinator in conjunction with the Sports Information department.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrating a high level of teaching and coaching competency in golf skill instruction, sport strategy, tactics and rules, physical training and fitness and student motivation in practice execution.
  • Assists with on and off campus recruitment activities of qualified potential student-athletes, which includes data entry and correspondence, talent identification, and communication of College and Program opportunities and expectations.
  • Active game preparation through scouting, course analysis, strategy discussions, and travel arrangements.
  • Assist the head coach in all areas of implementing a competitive, successful educational athletic program emphasizing the quality experience for the student athletes. Demonstrates initiative and can work independently under the direction and supervision of the Head Golf Coach.
  • Exhibits the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with regard to adherence to the NCAA, Conference, Juniata College, and Department of Athletics values This includes a commitment toward academics, sportsmanship on and off the field of play, positive leadership and the desire and ability to act as a positive role model and representative of the College at all times.
  • Demonstrates a sincere interest in the social, emotional, academic development, as well as the athletic welfare of student-athletes. Collaborates with head coach with academic monitoring and guidance of students where appropriate.
  • Maintains excellent working relationships with all members of the Athletics Department and promotes the objectives of the Juniata intercollegiate athletic program.
  • Welcomes additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics, College Administration and Head Golf Coach.
