CUNY SPS SEEK Program:

The SEEK program is designed to support previous New York State Opportunity Program transfer students in pursuing and completing their first bachelor’s degree fully online. The program provides a range of academic, financial, and student support services that promote student success, persistence, and graduation. The SEEK program works with prospective students, applicants, and currently enrolled students throughout the student lifecycle.

As a member of the SEEK team, the SEEK Program Assistant/College Assistant will provide administrative, operational, and programmatic support to facilitate the effective delivery of SEEK services and initiatives. This position plays a key role in supporting application processing, student communications, event management, record maintenance, data tracking, and departmental operations. The SEEK Program Assistant/College Assistant will work collaboratively with staff and campus partners to ensure the timely execution of program activities, maintain accurate records and documentation, and support student engagement efforts. The successful candidate will remain informed of program policies, procedures, and institutional systems to provide efficient, accurate, and responsive support to students and the SEEK team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and respond to inquiries received through SEEK email, voicemail, and text communication platforms, providing timely, professional, and student-centered customer service.
  • Execute program communications and outreach campaigns through email, text, and phone to support student engagement and participation in program initiatives.
  • Coordinate and support the planning, logistics, and execution of student workshops, events, orientations, and summer programming, including creating and maintaining Swoogo registration pages, managing participant communications, tracking attendance, preparing event materials, and generating event-related reports.
  • Maintain and update records, databases, reports, spreadsheets, and tracking systems to support program operations, monitor student engagement, and ensure the accurate and timely execution of departmental processes.
  • Provide administrative and operational support across program functions and collaborate with campus partners to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Assist with the coordination of departmental projects, workflow processes, and special initiatives to support program goals and compliance requirements.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned

Preferred Minimum Qualification:

  • High school diploma/GED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems including CUNYfirst
  • Commitment to understanding admissions application and student enrollment processes
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on achieving results and contribution to effective problem-solving
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new computer applications quickly
  • Experience with using Canva and Swoogo (event management system)
