Position: Collections Specialist
Job Type: Contract (2 Months)
Schedule: Full-Time
Location: Hybrid - work from home 1 day a week

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Collections Specialist for a 2-month contract assignment. This individual will play a key role in reducing outstanding accounts receivable balances, resolving customer payment issues, and supporting overall cash flow objectives. The ideal candidate will have prior business-to-business collections experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of past-due customer accounts and proactively follow up on outstanding balances
  • Contact customers via phone and email to secure payment and resolve payment discrepancies
  • Research and reconcile account issues, short payments, deductions, and disputes
  • Maintain accurate documentation of collection activities and customer communications
  • Collaborate with internal departments including Accounts Receivable, Customer Service, Sales, and Billing to resolve account issues
  • Monitor aging reports and prioritize collection efforts to meet cash flow goals
  • Prepare account status updates and collection reports as needed
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding collections activities
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of collections, accounts receivable, or credit and collections experience
  • Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes and aging reports
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to professionally negotiate payment arrangements and resolve disputes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting software
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, PeopleSoft, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar
  • Business-to-business (B2B) collections experience
  • Experience working with high-volume account portfolios
