Job description

Credit and Collections Manager

Glacial Plains Cooperative is looking for an experienced and motivated Credit Manager to join our team.  They will be responsible for the customer credit and collections at GPC.  The ideal candidate will need to have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to develop strategies to reduce risk and increase overall revenues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess financial statements, credit reports, and payment history to approve or reject credit applications
  • Develop and implement company credit and collection policies, and set customer credit limits to reduce overall financial risk for Glacial Plains Cooperative
  • Monitor customer open account receivable accounts
  • Monitor customer aging reports
  • Prepare and send monthly past due customer letters
  • Resolve payment disputes and negotiate structured payment terms or initiate collection proceedings on past due accounts, including NSF checks
  • Prepare reports on credit and collections activities

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field
  • 3-5+ years of experience in credit or a similar financial role
  • Excellent customer service
  • Strong analytical thinking, negotiation, communication skills, and
  • Ability to apply credit policies set by Glacial Plains consistently for unbiased review
  • Familiarity with credit and lending regulations.
  • Familiarity with agricultural financing programs
