Collections Specialist - R.H. Foster Energy, Hampden Corporate Office

R.H. Foster Energy is seeking a Collections Specialist to manage delinquent accounts, establish payment arrangements, and support credit and collection activities for our Energy Services locations. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive financial matters professionally.

What You'll Do

  • Contact customers with accounts more than 30 days past due to secure payment or establish payment arrangements.
  • Research account issues and work toward accurate, timely resolutions.
  • Follow up collection calls with written communication and required documentation.
  • Update customer payment and delivery terms as needed.
  • Receive and post payments and process account adjustments.
  • Communicate with Energy Services Office Managers regarding customer accounts.
  • Assist the Corporate Credit Manager with court-related activities and other credit functions.
  • Follow established company credit guidelines and collection best practices.
  • Cross-train in other credit department responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate teamwork, professionalism, and a positive attitude when working with customers, employees, and vendors.

Qualifications

  • Experience in collections, credit, billing, accounts receivable, or customer service is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle difficult customer conversations professionally.
  • Strong organization, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable using computers, account management systems, and Microsoft Office.
