SUMMARY: We are looking for a Collections Specialist to manage accounts receivable with accuracy and professionalism, resolve payment issues, and support process improvements that reduce delinquency and strengthen our financial operations.


LOCATION: South of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, NW corner of W. Airport Freeway (Hwy. 183) and Valley View Lane

COMPENSATION: Commensurate based on experience.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages accounts receivable according to established policies and procedures.
  • Oversees timely, accurate, and courteous handling of phone calls and payments.
  • Drives continuous improvement and innovation in collections processes.
  • Diligently logs all phone interactions in the client database for each account.
  • Collaborates extensively with various departments to optimize client strategies.
  • Acknowledges the uniqueness of each client and adapts handling accordingly.
  • Communicates effectively with internal teams about customer accounts to ensure timely follow-ups.
  • Reduces delinquency for assigned accounts and resolves customer disputes related to outstanding balances.
  • Involves Client Services and senior management as needed to expedite the collections process.
  • Ensures prompt resolution of inquiries and concerns and documents all payment transactions with precision.
  • Supports the Department by performing additional tasks and duties, including account reconciliations and assisting with month-end close.
  • Proactively discusses any accounts receivable issues with management.

Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of high-volume collection experience preferred.
  • Basic accounting knowledge is required.
  • Experience working in an accounting department for a company with more than 500 employees and multiple business units is strongly preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to multitask and adjust to new situations quickly
  • have excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • be highly detail-oriented and have a positive attitude
  • be committed to providing excellent customer service.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS: To perform this job successfully, the individual must withstand long periods of sitting, looking at a computer monitor, and phone handling for approximately 8-12 hours daily.
