Collections Specialist (Hybrid)

Location: Fort Worth, TX

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (4 Days Onsite, 1 Day Remote)

Position Type: 12-Month Contract-to-Hire

Pay Rate: $25.00/hour

Start Date: August 31, 2026

Overview

We are seeking a motivated Collections Specialist to join a growing financial services team. This role is ideal for professionals with recent collections experience who enjoy working directly with customers to resolve delinquent accounts while delivering exceptional service.

In this position, you will work in a fast-paced, high-volume call center environment, helping customers understand account balances, establish payment arrangements, and navigate financial hardships. The ideal candidate is comfortable handling sensitive conversations, negotiating payment solutions, and managing multiple systems simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities
  • Make and receive approximately 20 customer calls per day.
  • Discuss past-due balances, deficiency balances, and end-of-contract charges.
  • Collect payments and assist customers with account resolution.
  • Negotiate and establish payment arrangements.
  • Follow up on expired payment agreements.
  • Support customers experiencing financial hardship by identifying appropriate solutions.
  • Process payments accurately and document customer interactions thoroughly.
  • Perform skip tracing activities to locate customers and collateral when necessary.
  • Escalate accounts for repossession review when appropriate.
  • Navigate multiple systems while maintaining quality, compliance, and productivity standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Recent over-the-phone collections experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced call center environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency using multiple computer applications simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Collections experience within:
    • Auto Finance
    • Credit Card Services
    • Mortgage Servicing
    • Financial Services
  • Previous call center or accounts receivable experience.
  • Skip tracing experience.
  • Impound experience.
  • Experience with automotive lending or consumer finance organizations.
  • Familiarity with collections management systems and account resolution processes.
Training Schedule

Training is conducted 100% onsite.

  • First 2 Days: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST
  • Remaining Training: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM CST
  • Monday through Friday
Regular Work Schedule

Following training, employees will transition to a hybrid schedule:

  • Monday through Friday
  • 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM CST
  • 4 Days Onsite / 1 Day Remote

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
