Position Overview

A growing HVAC company in Stratford, CT is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join its accounting team. This role is responsible for managing customer accounts, monitoring outstanding balances, and ensuring timely payment of invoices while maintaining positive client relationships. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a professional demeanor, and experience in accounts receivable and collections.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage accounts receivable aging reports
  • Contact customers regarding past due invoices via phone and email
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate records of collection activities and customer communications
  • Reconcile customer accounts and research payment variances
  • Process and apply incoming payments to customer accounts
  • Collaborate with sales, customer service, and accounting teams to resolve account issues
  • Prepare collection reports and provide updates to management
  • Assist with cash application and other accounts receivable functions as needed
  • Support month-end closing activities related to receivables
  • Promote positive customer relationships while ensuring collection goals are met


Qualifications
