Essential Duties
  • Assist with processing tasks (i.e. arranging and describing materials)
  • Data entry
  • Assist with reference by conducting research and using the microfilm reader
  • Digitize materials using equipment in Mims Digitization Lab
  • Create and maintain inventories
  • Attend training sessions as required
  • Other tasks as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Office is necessary
  • Must be highly responsible and pay close attention to detail
  • Able to respond well to feedback
  • Performs independently and able to remain flexible when changes are needed
  • Clear and effective communication

Job Description Summary
This job is located in the Beulah Culbertson Archives and Special Collections at Fant Memorial Library. The student will provide assistance to patrons and archives staff. Duties are related to helping the archives collect, preserve, and provide access to the history of The W and Mississippi women's history and leadership. This position involves working with original historical materials, digitizing, and data entry, among other tasks. Projects outside of those listed in Essential Duties may arise and other duties may be assigned as needed. Prior experience is neither expected nor required, but an interest in history and an eye for detail are always appreciated! We provide training for all assigned work.
Institutional and Federal Work Study students can apply.
Hours of Availability
Up to 20 hours per week during operating hours:
Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5pm
