Job description

Current Employees of Happen Bank: Please apply via your internal Workday Account
Happen Bank (formerly LendingClub) is built around a simple purpose: to clear the way to help people turn intention into action, and action into financial progress. That means offering focused products, a frictionless mobile-first experience, and clear terms with no gotchas. Respect and fairness is part of our DNA, and that ideal shapes how we work, how we treat each other, and how we invest in our employees and our community. Join us in using data, bold thinking, and a commitment to innovation to help clear the way for millions of Americans to achieve more.
About the Role
At LendingClub, we take pride in supporting members through challenging decisions, and we're looking for professionals ready to build and apply strong problem-solving and persuasion skills.
This role is designed for individuals ready to take the next step, navigating nuanced financial situations that call for advanced communication, negotiations and critical thinking. You'll manage complex, high-risk accounts, balancing firm decision-making with empathy, resilience, and adaptability.
Bring your experience - and grow it with us.
What You'll Do
  • You will work in a fast paced, high-volume environment as you make outbound collections calls on an auto-dialer. About 100 -120 calls daily.

  • You will navigate difficult conversations while needing to overcome objections, influence outcomes, ask clarifying questions, and negotiate payment arrangements.

  • You will listen and seek to understand the member's goals/needs and tailor specific solutions using LendingClub tools and resources

  • You can expect to contribute to defined KPIs and results by infusing a human element into our call model.

Pay
$18.00/hr base + monthly performance-based bonuses. Avg earnings $22-25/hr
Schedules (subject to change):
10:30 AM - 7:00 PM Monday - Thursday; 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM Friday
OR
6:00 AM - 3:00 PM 4 Weekdays; 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Saturday - Saturdays are required for the early schedule.
Start Date
September 21, 2026
We utilize a hybrid work model, and our teams are in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. In-person attendance is essential for this role's success, and remote placement will not be considered.
About You
  • Have 1+ year of collections and/or sales experience

  • Contribute to a positive team environment by actively engaging with your peers and leaders while having a willingness to continuously improve through training and development.

  • Ability to thrive in a high-stress environment while navigating emotions of others-mainly customers-in a professional and respectful manner

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required

Virtual (Work from Home) Considerations:
LendingClub currently has options to work from home, but we are asking for flexibility going forward as circumstances change and we potentially determine to transition teams back to work in the office. The following are requirements to perform this role while working from home:
  • Have a quiet, dedicated space (preferably with a door) where you can work uninterrupted at home. This also includes having a dedicated desk and chair for work.

  • Have high speed internet with low usage during business hours (20MBPS download speed and 5-10 MBPS upload speed)

  • Be able to connect directly into your modem/router (not via wifi) ethernet cord provided

  • Be comfortable trouble shooting technical issues without in-person IT support

  • MUST live and work within 75 miles of the LendingClub office hiring this role.

  • While working, it is expected that you are not the primary caregiver to any pets, children or elderly.

Working Conditions
Required to be on the phones, work on a computer and at a desk for extended periods of time including viewing a screen, using a mouse, manipulating a keyboard and wearing a headset. Must be able to function effectively in a dynamic fast-paced call center environment where natural and regular work stressors can occur.
What Makes LC different:
A great place to build your career
We want you to learn and grow with us. On-boarding programs, on-the-job training, career-development sessions, and performance check-ins keep you on a path toward the next level. Last year, 57% of our new Operations managers were promotions from within the company.

We encourage everyone to voice their opinions while retaining the humility to listen and accept other viewpoints. Employee resource groups-like our women's, veterans, Latinx, and LGBTQ groups-offer more ways to feel connected and supported within our LendingClub community.
You are worth it
We want every employee to feel valued. One way we do that is through our generous compensation and benefits package, which includes:
  • Generous paid time off

  • 401(k) match up to 4% or $5,000 per year

  • Wellness program with cash incentives and more!
