The Role

We are seeking an experienced Debt Collection Manager to lead our collections team. In this role, you will oversee daily operations, drive performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and develop strategies that maximize recoveries while maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer treatment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and motivate a team of collectors to achieve and exceed recovery targets and KPIs
  • Develop, implement, and refine collection strategies, scripts, and workflows
  • Monitor portfolio performance, analyze data, and produce regular reports on recovery rates, aging, and team productivity
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant laws and regulations (including FDCPA, and applicable state/local rules)
  • Handle escalated accounts, complex negotiations
  • Maintain accurate records and support audit readiness

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience (ideally 5+ years) in debt collections, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Strong knowledge of consumer protection and collections regulations
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding recovery targets
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and people management skills
  • Strong analytical ability and comfort with performance metrics and reporting
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and problem solving skills
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to treating consumers fairly
  • Proficiency with collection software/CRM systems Google and Microsoft Office
