Nature & Purpose of Position
Performs operational and event management duties for Johnson Coliseum. Responsibilities include but are not limited to facility setup and teardown for Basketball Games, Volleyball Matches, Graduations, Ring Ceremonies, Special Events and External Rentals. Daily duties include custodial responsibilities such as sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and basic cleaning of locker rooms and offices. Additionally, this position is responsible for end-of-day closing procedures, including securing all entrances and ensuring the building is fully locked and secured.
Other Requirements for the Position
Employees must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs., chairs, tables and game equipment. This position involves both daily and event-based hours; therefore, a flexible schedule is essential. Availability to work nights, weekends, and during non-traditional periods-such as between academic semesters and before or sometimes during holiday breaks-is required.
Please note: Availability to work Graduations including August graduation is mandatory. This includes participation in event setup, working during the ceremonies, and assisting with post-event teardown. Candidates who are unable to commit to this requirement will not be considered for the position.
