Job description

Two-Roll Mill Operator  –  Cleveland, OH (St. Clair Location)

Multiple Openings | First Shift: $19.00/hr | Second Shift: $20.50/hr | Third Shift: $21.00/hr

We are seeking motivated Two-Roll Mill Operators to join our production team at the St. Clair facility in Cleveland, OH. This position serves as the Phase One Lead in a threestage manufacturing process and plays a critical role in preparing highquality batches that support downstream extrusion and packaging operations. You will work as part of a threeperson production team, ensuring materials are accurately measured, mixed, and delivered on time to meet customer and production requirements.

 

Two-Roll Mill Operator Job Responsibilities:

  • Review production orders to determine material requirements, batch quantities, and specifications
  • Prepare and stage raw materials in the correct sequence for efficient mixing
  • Accurately weigh and measure ingredients, ensuring scales are zeroed between measurements
  • Enter ingredient data into the system and verify measurements meet required tolerances
  • Operate tilt body mixer and set appropriate temperatures (typically 170–180°F)
  • Monitor and control the mixing process using gauges, probes, and temperature checks
  • Clean and maintain rotors and mixing equipment using approved procedures
  • Perform thorough cleaning of the mixing area to prevent contamination
  • Follow detailed mixing instructions and production processes stepbystep
  • Collect batch samples and deliver to the lab for testing; adjust process based on feedback
  • Transfer completed batches to extrusion via conveyor system once approved
  • Monitor flow to ensure smooth transition to Phase Two operations
  • Communicate effectively with the Extruder Operator and team members
  • Adhere to all safety, quality, and production standards
  • Perform equipment shutdown and cleanout procedures as required

Two-Roll Mill Operator Job Qualifications:

Required

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work with precise measurements
  • Basic computer/dataentry skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a teamoriented, fastpaced manufacturing environment
 

Preferred

  • Experience in rubber processing, compounding, or polymer manufacturing
  • Handson experience with rubber extrusion processes and equipment
  • Familiarity with rubber mixing techniques, including temperature and material control
  • Understanding of material properties, batch consistency, and contamination prevention
  • Experience with extrusion lines, conveyors, and downstream processing equipment
  • Knowledge of quality standards and testing procedures for rubber products
