CNC Press Brake Operator - Bandsaw -Night Shift
Department: Machine Division (MAC)

Description
Job Summary: This position is responsible for operating our 350 Ton and 1000 Ton ACCURPRESS brake machines to shape various types of metal.
The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices daily: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.
Essential Functions
  • Demonstrates the ability to read drawings and blueprints and program the brake to run bend and forming operations while using standard and custom dies
  • Checks overall dimensions using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges, and other precision-measuring instruments to ensure tight tolerances.
  • Compensate for bend allowances for various sheet metal thicknesses.
  • Perform routine maintenance on the machine.
  • Works as a member of the manufacturing team to provide high quality products that satisfies the customer (internal and external) and achieves manufacturing goals
  • Learns and performs setup and utilize plasma and oxy CNC cut machines to produce "Burn to Shape" / cut parts, loading component parts to Plasma, Oxy Cut, Shear, Press and Roll equipment
  • Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
  • Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standard
  • Requires regular and punctual employee attendance

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Working experience with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) operated press brakes and the ability to compensate for bend allowances for various sheet metal thicknesses.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance on the press brakes
  • Ability to maneuver safely and work underneath equipment
  • Ability to frequently reach, bend, walk, etc.

Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Up to 2 years of computer operating machinery and manufacturing experience required
  • Trained and skilled in the use micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges, and other precision-measuring instruments to ensure tight tolerances
  • Experience in operating an automated shear to cut steel sheet and plates preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy required

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None

Travel:
  • Less that 5% travel may be required

Additional Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's license required
  • Ability to obtain a forklift license.
  • Willingness to learn how to operate our DAVI plate roller and Messer down draft cut table.

Physical Requirements:
  • Extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, stooping, climbing, and reaching
  • Constant movement and use of hands, this position requires good manual dexterity and coordination
  • Communicates with customers, service managers, and co-workers
  • Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
  • Frequently lifts and moves materials and equipment up to 50lb approximately 5 times a day
  • Ascends/descends with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climbs up and down ladders and/or equipment

Work Environment:
  • Regularly works indoors around moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to temperature extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity
  • Requires wearing proper protective and safety equipment (PPE)
  • Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, overhead crane operations, heavy plate material, and high-pressure forming machines
  • Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or on elevated surfaces
  • Works in extremely bright lighting exposed to flashes of light from welding, high noise levels and body vibration
