Job Description

This is not an official job description, but represents major responsibilities a new hire can expect to perform: You could expect the position of center store clerk to include the following:
DUTIES:
Provide friendly and courteous service to customers
Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
Stock, straighten and rotate product on shelves in Dairy, Frozen, Non-Foods., and Grocery Departments.
Process incoming product from our warehouse and direct store delivery vendors
Read and understand shelf tags
Sort damaged product for credit
Operate a hand jack, power lift and cardboard baler
Follow company safety guidelines when using cutters, power lifts, and baler
Maintain cleanliness of shelves, displays, backroom, refrigerated cases, cooler and freezer
Maintain company productivity standards
Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of store management
TRAINING
Training will be provided at store level.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Bending
Stooping
Able to stock 50 cases per hour
Able to work in a cold environment (-10 to 40 degrees)
Able to push loaded two wheeler (average 100-120 pounds)
Able to pull a loaded pallet (up to 700 pounds)
Able to pull loaded stock truck
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Working on feet entire shift (4-8hours)

Additional Requirements - Internal Candidates:

  • Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.
  • Store Support Center Teammates:minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred.
  • Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).
  • If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.
