Job description

Senior Spring Coiling Technician

Houston, TX | Full-Time | Direct Hire | 100% Onsite


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Spring Coiler / Senior Spring Coiling Technician / Lead Coiler to join a precision manufacturing operation producing high-volume coil springs for aerospace, automotive, and industrial applications.


This is a specialized spring-coiling positionโ€”not a CNC machining role. The ideal candidate will have strong setup experience and be capable of independently setting up, adjusting, troubleshooting, and operating spring-coiling equipment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, adjust, and operate Simco, Torin, Wafios, or comparable spring-coiling equipment
  • Convert straight metal wire into precision coil springs
  • Perform complete machine setups, adjustments, changeovers, and troubleshooting
  • Program and adjust PLC-based systems
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and production issues
  • Work in a high-volume production environment
  • Train and support less-experienced operators as needed


Must-Have Qualifications

  • 3+ years of direct spring-coiling setup experience
  • Hands-on experience setting up spring-coiling machines
  • Ability to independently set up and run a coiling machine
  • Strong understanding of the spring-coiling process
  • Experience converting straight wire into precision coil springs
  • Experience with Simco, Torin, Wafios, or comparable coiling equipment
  • PLC programming/machine-control experience
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • High-volume manufacturing experience


Compensation & Benefits

  • $28โ€“$35/hour for experienced/journeyman-level candidates
  • Up to approximately $40/hour for top-tier, setup-level coilers

Schedule & Work Environment

  • 5:00 AMโ€“2:30 PM or 6:00 AMโ€“2:00 PM

  • Physically demanding environment, including exposure to heat
