MSR Technology Group has been recognized as an Inc. 500/5000 company for the past seven consecutive years. We currently have an urgent opening for a Cognos Business Analyst for an onsite role in Fort Worth, TX.

Position Details:

Title: Cognos Business Analyst

Location: Fort Worth, TX

Duration: Long Term Contract

Rate: $50.50 per hour on W2 with benefits

Position Description:

Purpose of the Job: The Business Analyst supports Collections and Remarketing teams including Active Collections, Recovery, Exceptions, Strategy, and Soft Collections. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborating with Leadership, as well as Business and Data Stakeholders
  • Creating recurring production and ad hoc reports
  • Analysis of business results to identify and communicate trends and possible correlated issues
  • Performing root cause analysis to eliminate defects in reports
  • Continuous improvement in efficiency and reporting quality
  • Datamart testing and validation

Task Description / Performance Expectations

Quality Control: 1.1

Review internally produced reports for accuracy and resolve issues as needed 1.2. Publish reports to stakeholders according to any SLAs or requirements 1.3. Identify and troubleshoot issues with report accuracy and data integrity as needed

Scope: 2.1

Collaborate with stakeholders to determine report requirements, including, purpose, scope and related details. Translate requirements into technical specifications, including dimensions/categories, filters, fields, calculations, metrics and layout) and final deliverable product 2.2 Maintain internal processes including, but not limited to, housing key information such as department roster history, vendor KPIs, Dialer metrics etc.

Customer Support: 3.1.

Assess customer requests, provide ad hoc reports, and develop recurring reports in a timely manner; Coordinate with stakeholders and BA supervisor to determine priorities 3.2. Attend project meetings to provide analysis, insight, technical advice, or other information as required

Business Analysis and Consulting 4.1

Act as a consultant to business partners by providing trend and exception analysis as well as identifying possible correlated causes and solutions, as necessary 4.2 Identify key areas of opportunity through process mapping or data analysis to reduce or eliminate redundant report processes/products 4.3 Reduce the number of manually generated reports through automation via corporate tools such as SAS, Cognos, Power BI or Tableau 4.4 Seek continuous improvement by increasing finding efficiency (run time) of in standard reports, including visualizations where appropriate, recreating reports in more appropriate tools and regular review of reports for use, format, accuracy, applicability
