We are seeking a Cognos Admin to join our team.
This Cognos Admin role will involve administering, supporting, and maintaining enterprise IBM Cognos environments to ensure reliable reporting and analytics services. The ideal Cognos Admin will have extensive hands-on experience with IBM Cognos 11.x and 12.x, along with strong server and platform administration skills. As a Cognos Admin, you will be responsible for installation, configuration, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting of Cognos environments. Job Description
The Cognos Admin is responsible for the day-to-day administration and operational support of IBM Cognos business intelligence platforms. This role focuses on managing Cognos infrastructure, ensuring system availability, supporting report deployments, and maintaining secure and efficient Cognos environments.
The position requires deep expertise in Cognos server administration, content management, and performance optimization. The Cognos Admin will work closely with application teams and business users to support reporting needs while ensuring system stability, scalability, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and support IBM Cognos 11.x and 12.x environments.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Cognos and associated infrastructure components.
  • Perform Cognos server administration, including environment setup and troubleshooting.
  • Manage content administration such as report deployments, package promotions, and environment migrations.
  • Configure and maintain user access, roles, and security within Cognos.
  • Monitor system performance and resource utilization; identify and resolve performance issues.
  • Troubleshoot application, server, and integration issues across Cognos environments.
  • Implement solutions to enhance system efficiency, stability, and reliability.
  • Maintain operational documentation and follow platform best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support BI and reporting initiatives.
Required Experience & Skills
  • 8-10 years of experience in IBM Cognos administration and support.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Cognos 11.x and 12.x.
  • Strong experience installing and configuring Cognos Information Store (IS).
  • Proven expertise in Cognos server administration, including install, upgrade, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Cognos content administration, report/package promotion, and security management.
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor system performance and implement performance improvements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in production support environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale BI platforms.
  • Familiarity with underlying operating systems and middleware supporting Cognos.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
