At least 2 years of experience using IBM Cognos with proven experience in the following areas:

  -Min. of 1.5 years of experience as a Senior Developer in all aspects of Cognos BI 8.2 onwards (Framework Manager, Report Studio, Query Studio, Deployment and Administration)

  -Excellent SQL / Oracle skills as this forms the backbone of all the Cognos BI solutions

  -Experience of building relational and DMR based framework models

  -In depth experience in advanced reporting techniques (conditional blocks, master detail, slicers, prompt macros, conditional formatting)

  -Deep knowledge of Web technologies like like HTML, Style Sheets and JavaScript

  -Experience with reporting technologies like Business Objects would be valuable

  -Experience with Autosys and Shell/PERL scripting and source code control tools such as Subversion would be an advantage

  -Previous exposure to complex environments

  -Strong analytical, conceptual and client facing skills

  -Independent working style and ability to manage delivery under pressure

  -Excellent communication and co-ordination skill

Hands-on development mentality, with a willingness to troubleshoot and solve complex problems

Ability to work in team in diverse/ multiple stakeholder environment

Experience in Insurance domain

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.

At least 4 years of experience with Information Technology.

At least 2 years of hands on experience in Design, Development & Build activities in Cognos Projects - MUST.

At least 2 years of experience in Project life cycle activities on DW/BI development and maintenance projects.
