GIS Developer job at Cognizant. Juneau, AK.

Responsibilities
  • Smallworld application customization using GE Smallworld, Magik
  • Responsible for data conversion using FME
  • Upgrade and integrate smallworld interfaces
  • Deliver new and complex high quality solutions to clients in response to varying business requirements
  • Testing and defect fixing
  • Responsible for effective communication between the project team and the customer
  • Use of various computer technologies, languages and environments including Windows, Linux, Smallworld Magik, Java, Oracle, Smallworld Core, Design Manager, Smallworld Case Tool, Electric Office, GDO/GTO, XML, FME as necessary
Mandatory Skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Electronics / Electrical / Computer Science or Information Technology)
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in GE Smallworld product suites, Smallworld App Deveopment, VMDS
  • Strong knowledge of Magik language
  • Experience to create new modules
  • Develop Custom GIS Applications
  • Experience with Querying, Reporting, and Extraction of Spatial Data
  • Excellent communication
  • Strong Energy and Utility domain knowledge
