Roles/Responsibilities:
  • Architect, design, and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance applications using Java and Spring Boot
  • Build and maintain microservices-based systems, ensuring reliability, resilience, and observability
  • Develop and optimize database schemas, SQL queries, and PL/SQL procedures in Oracle
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, QA, DevOps, UX) to deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and enforce engineering best practices
  • Troubleshoot production issues and drive continuous improvements in system performance and stability
  • Contribute to and enhance CI/CD pipelines and automation for efficient development and deployment

Required Qualifications:
Must Have
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in backend or full-stack Java development
  • Expert-level proficiency in Java (Java 8 or higher)
  • Strong experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem
  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems
  • Strong expertise in Oracle databases, including SQL, PL/SQL, performance tuning, and schema design
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools

Nice to Have
  • Experience with Apache Kafka (event-driven architecture)
  • Exposure to Spring WebFlux (reactive programming)
  • Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until June 30, 2026.
The annual salary for this position is between $65,447- $117,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
