Job Summary 

Manages all aspects of store operations, including collecting donations, processing donations, sales, managing staff, financial performance, and loss control activities. Conducts self with honesty and integrity, ensuring that all business activities are transparent and ethical. 

Essential Job Duties 

1. Oversees store’s operation; directs activities of store staff and volunteers, ensures that all sales transactions and donated goods are processed and reported 

2. Communicates the organization’s mission, vision, and values and promotes diversity

3. Trains, coaches, and provides feedback to strengthen and develop staff skills 

4. Ensures staff follows policies and procedures 

5. Responsible for maintaining compliance will all applicable employment laws and regulations

6. Actively recruits, hire, and schedules staff, conducts performance evaluations, administers discipline, documents and communicates performance and behavioral issues 

7. Demonstrates leadership and positive role modeling for staff 

8. Effectively manages time and monitors staff time to ensure that work is completed

11. Champions safety and loss prevention programs and handles loss control concerns by working in partnership with our Loss Prevention Department

Physical Requirements 

Requires ability to lift or move up to fifty (50) pounds of clothing and housewares safely on and off retail shelving fixtures up to ten (10) feet high, clothing racks four (4) feet high, and z-racks six (6) feet high Push and pull z-racks holding up to one hundred (100) pieces of clothing and weighing a minimum of 150 pounds Bend and reach into gaylords up to five (5) feet high to remove clothing and housewares Ability to push carts weighing up to 150 pounds 

Requires manual dexterity to fasten and unfasten buttons; snaps and zippers; operate cash registers and tagging guns 

Requires the ability to stand for extended periods 

Requires the ability to perform a combination of tasks for extended periods such as stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, reaching, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects to sort and hang clothing, and place housewares on shelves and racks 

Requires visual acuity to evaluate donated items for quality 

Requires ability to identify smells to evaluate donations for undesirable odors - mold, must, dust, bodily fluids, and/or urine 

Subject to transfer to other locations within the LLGI territory 

Environmental Conditions 

Works in an office, light warehouse, store showroom, and surrounding grounds environments with exposure to heat and cold 

Subject to exposure to allergens including dirt, dust, mold, metals, rubber, plastics, latex, and pet hair

Fast-paced environment with short deadlines and regular instances of critical or unusual situations. Scope of work includes office, light industrial, and warehouse settings with exposure to heat, cold, dirt, dust, pet hair, mold, and other allergens. 

Requires frequent travel to LLGI locations
