Position: Shift Supervisor | Location: Hyatt Regency Waikiki

Compensation: $18.50-$20/hour + tips

About Us:

We're currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Shift Supervisor to lead our cafe and ensure the highest standards in operations, customer service, and team development.

Position Summary:
The Shift Supervisor provides day-of-shift guidance and coordination to ensure smooth operations, strong hospitality, and consistent cafe performance. This role supports Shift Leads and Team Members, handles shiftlevel decisions, and reinforces Kai Coffee standards while modeling professionalism and company values. This role does not include authority to hire, terminate, discipline, or make final employment decisions regarding team members or baristas.

What You'll Do:

Leadership, Team Support & Customer Experience

  • Guides and supports Acting Leads, Shift Leads, Team Members, and Baristas modeling professionalism, accountability, and Kai Coffee values
  • Helps coordinate tasks according to established procedures and direction from Store Management
  • Participates in a weekly check-in with the Store Manager to review operational updates and support needs
  • Sets the tone for hospitality, handles escalated guest concerns related to service experience, and coaches the team on guest engagement and service recovery.

Operation Standards & DecisionMaking

  • Monitors shift flow and communicates staffing needs; any adjustments require prior approval from the Store Manager or Senior Leadership
  • Assists with callout coverage by identifying and coordinating coverage subject to Store Manager or Senior Leadership approval; may cover shifts when needed to ensure adequate staffing
  • Documents shift notes, incidents, and operational updates
  • Upholds safety, sanitation, cleaning standards, and uniform policies
  • Ensures beverage quality, recipe consistency, and supports coffee knowledge across the team

Inventory & Administrative Support

  • Supports inventory counts, delivery checks, logging, and reporting discrepancies.
  • Monitors POS accuracy and cashhandling issues
  • Supports the Store Manager with entering product/supply orders into the ordering system as assigned
  • Documents shift performance, issues, and escalations
  • Identifies operational gaps and communicates improvement opportunities
