Washington County Housing Authority is searching for a Comptroller to play a key role in guiding the financial health of the agency. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Comptroller, you will be supporting the financial direction of the Housing Authority, ensuring strong fiscal oversight across all programs. You will take part in creating strategies that support future planning and everyday financial needs. In this role, you will perform the following duties:

  • Financial Leadership: Direct financial operations and support strategic planning for long term and daily needs
  • Ledger Oversight: Maintain general ledgers for all Housing Authority entities and programs
  • Investment Management: Manage the investment and reinvestment of Housing Authority funds
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare analytical accounting reports and budget projections for leadership and program staff
  • Regulatory Compliance: Monitor submissions to HUD and ensure all required filings are completed with IRS, PHFA, HUD, and NSPIRE
  • Audit Coordination: Work with independent and regulatory auditors during on-site reviews


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Four years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience including one year of supervisory experience and a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by fifteen college credits in accounting; or
  • Any equivalent combination of accounting experience and training.
