Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Medicaid Rebate Coder to support a large-scale historical data cleanup initiative. This individual will play a key role in reviewing and validating medical coding data related to Medicaid rebate programs, with a primary focus on National Drug Codes (NDC) and HCPCS codes. Working through legacy data, this person will analyze approximately 300 records per week, identify discrepancies, and verify coding accuracy against external reference sources. The ideal candidate will be comfortable performing validation work, researching discrepancies, and maintaining a high level of accuracy while working independently on a large-scale remediation project.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or GED required.

• 3+ years of experience in medical claims, medical billing, reimbursement, or healthcare data auditing. • Experience working with NDC, HCPCS, CPT, or other healthcare coding data.

• Strong understanding of medical claims and billing processes.

• Ability to validate and reconcile data across multiple systems and external reference sources.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience working in a hospital, inpatient facility, or healthcare setting involving claims and billing.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify inconsistencies and data quality issues.

• Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Medical coding certification (CPC, CCS, RHIT, or similar).

• Medicaid or rebate program experience.

• Pharmacy billing or reimbursement experience.

• Experience with healthcare data reconciliation or quality assurance processes.

Pay: Up to $32/hr

Duration: 7+ month contract (project-based through March 2027)

Remote, working EST, Monday-Friday
