Job description

Job Title: QA/QC Site Manager โ€“ Combustion Turbine Construction (Per Diem) Location: Tracy, MN 56145 Type: 12-Month Contract Compensation: $78.50 per hour Contractor Work Model: Onsite โ€“ onsite Per Diem: $178/day - 7 Days Per Week

Responsibilities:

  • Support a greenfield simple-cycle combustion turbine project involving the construction of two combustion turbine units.
  • Provide on-site quality oversight to ensure EPC contractors, vendors, and fabrication teams comply with project specifications, quality standards, applicable codes, and approved procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review EPC contractor quality programs, inspection plans, procedures, and turnover documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with ASME B31.1 and B31.3 piping and power plant construction standards.
  • Conduct field audits, site walks, and inspections to verify adherence to quality requirements.
  • Provide oversight of welding activities and ensure code compliance is maintained.
  • Identify and manage hold points, witness points, and critical inspection/testing milestones.
  • Witness hydrostatic testing, pressure testing, and rotating equipment installation activities.
  • Review fabrication and installation quality across civil, mechanical, and piping scopes.
  • Support supplier and fabrication quality oversight activities as needed.
  • Coordinate with EPC quality managers, inspectors, vendors, and OEM representatives.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and coaching to inspection and project teams.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of QA/QC or construction quality oversight experience.
  • Experience on large-scale construction or energy infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of welding inspection and quality assurance practices.
  • Working knowledge of ASME B31.1 and B31.3 standards.
  • Experience performing audits, inspections, and quality surveillance activities.
  • Experience with hydrotesting, pressure testing, and rotating equipment installation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Ability to work effectively with EPC contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
