Job description

Essential Duties:

  • coordinate and provide logistical support for Big River’s community programming
  • attend training program sessions as needed
  • recruit, retain, and collaborate with volunteers to implement training programs
  • manage and support a team of 60-75 volunteers, led by 8-12 volunteer program coordinators
  • write weekly program newsletters
  • develop location schedules
  • revise established group training plans and adapt as needed to align with goal races
  • attend and facilitate end-of-season debrief meetings with program coordinators to reflect on prior season and brainstorm for upcoming season
  • assist volunteer program coordinators with volunteer orientation and participant orientation prior to each training season
  • manage RunSignup registration sites
  • coordinate design of program merchandise; place merchandise orders with apparel and accessory vendors and local screen printer; and sort and distribute orders
  • coordinate with program sponsors and arrange product demos
  • procure and distribute volunteer perks provided by program sponsors
  • collaborate with Marketing Director and General Manager to prepare and submit community sponsorship proposals to footwear and accessory brands
  • coordinate medical sponsorships with local physical therapy practices and arrange for education sessions, post-run stretching, and injury evaluations
  • lift and carry boxes and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds 
  • liaise with local race organizers to procure discount codes for goal races
  • manage program budgets 
  • coordinate in-store events with Big River store managers
  • inform Big River staff about program updates and current and upcoming offerings


Desired Qualifications:
