Job description

We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant with hands-on general ledger experience to join our team on a part-time basis. This role will play an important part in maintaining accurate financial records, completing reconciliations, and supporting month-end accounting processes.


The ideal candidate has previous experience working directly with a general ledger and understands how day-to-day transactions flow into accurate financial reporting. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, identifying discrepancies, and maintaining organized and accurate financial records.


What You’ll Do

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Prepare and post journal entries and ensure transactions are properly recorded
  • Complete account and balance sheet reconciliations and research discrepancies
  • Assist with month-end close and financial reporting
  • Process and review accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions
  • Manage credit card transactions, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Review financial records for accuracy, completeness, and proper account coding
  • Assist with payroll processing as needed, serving as backup support
  • Support benefits administration and related documentation
  • Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Provide additional accounting and administrative support as needed


What We’re Looking For

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • Previous hands-on general ledger accounting experience required
  • 1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience preferred
  • Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
  • Working knowledge of AP and AR processes
  • Familiarity with credit card processing and reconciliations
  • Basic understanding of payroll and benefits administration
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet accounting deadlines
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with a team


Pay: $21.00–$24.00 per hour, based on experience


Schedule

  • Part-time
  • Monday and Friday 8:00 Am - 4:30 PM
  • Optional additional hours on Wednesdays


Work Location: In person
