Job description

Job Title: Assistant Teacher
Department: Child Care
Location : Park Ridge Child Center, 1539, Long Pond Road, Rochester, NY- 14626.
Hours Per Week: 25
Schedule: Part-Time, Day Shift, Monday to Friday- 1:00 am to 6:00 pm
Position Summary:
Assist teacher in providing appropriate program for all children and maintain positive relationships with children and parents.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assists the teacher in providing a developmentally appropriate program for all of the children.
  • Assists in creating an environment that supports children's growth and development.
  • Develops and maintains a positive relationship with all of the children and their families.
  • Effectively guides children's behavior in an age appropriate and positive manner.
  • Constructively participates in staff meetings and attends meetings with supervisor.
  • Meets the physical, social, cognitive, emotional and cultural needs of individual children.
  • Attends a minimum of 15 hours of training every year.
  • Communicates appropriately with families regarding children's daily activities both verbally and written as needed.
  • Ensures the safety of the children and promotes good health habits.
  • Works toward achievement of classroom's annual goals.
  • Works with colleagues and community representatives to support children and families.
