Job description

General Ecology, Inc. is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist and Programmer specialized in multi-axis CNC lathe and mill operations. This hands-on role involves machine setup, programming, and operation, primarily focused on full production runs, tool and die making, as well as custom and repair work. The successful candidate will work with multi-axis CNC lathes and a combination of CNC and manual machines, reporting directly to the production supervisor. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Set up multi-axis CNC lathes and mills for production runs
  • Edit and program CNC paths using Mastercam and G-code
  • Operate both CNC and manual machinery efficiently and safely
  • Perform quality inspections to ensure precision and adherence to specifications
  • Conduct routine maintenance on CNC equipment to maximize uptime
  • Support tool and die making as well as custom repair projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in CNC machining
  • Technical certification in CNC machining or machining technology
  • Proficiency with Mastercam software
  • Experienced with CNC lathe and mill operation
  • Skilled in blueprint reading and precision measurement
  • Competent in G-code programming and manual machining
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Safety-conscious with demonstrated awareness in machining environments
