Job description

The Financial Aid Funds Specialist is responsible for the receipt of Federal and institutional grant disbursements and refunds. This person must distinguish between students who are eligible for funding and those who are not, to stay in compliance with federal regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Create and process Title IV Refunds
  • Perform updates to Pell awards in accordance with drop requirements
  • Create and process Institutional scholarship batches
  • Special projects and reporting
  • Import SAIG responses
  • COD manual entries
  • Maintain appropriate sections of the Training Manual

Other Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to policies and procedures of Full Sail University
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of company and personnel information
  • Adhere to company attendance standards
  • Performs other duties, as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities: No
Competencies:
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Detail oriented; accuracy of utmost importance
  • Ability to work independently and manage timelines in a deadline driven environment
  • COD and OSFA experience, a plus

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelors degree and a minimum of 2 years of financial aid experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Computer/Equipment Skills:
  • Proficiency using software programs such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook

Environmental Factors/Physical Demands:
Work is performed in an office environment. The employee must be able to access, input and retrieve information from the computer system. May be subject to bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and lifting up to thirty (30) pounds. Must be able to work normal business hours; some overtime and weekends may be required. This position is based on Full Sail University's campus in Winter Park, Florida and can be performed on a hybrid basis to work from home and from campus.
