To thrive as a Cobol Analyst, you need strong proficiency in COBOL programming, experience with mainframe environments, and a background in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with tools such as IBM z/OS, JCL, DB2, and version control systems, along with relevant certifications, is highly valued. Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication are vital soft skills for troubleshooting and collaborating on legacy system projects. These skills ensure the maintenance, modernization, and reliability of critical business applications that often underpin financial, insurance, and government institutions.

Are Cobol analyst jobs still in demand?

Cobol analyst jobs remain in demand in industries such as banking, finance, and government, where legacy systems still rely on Cobol programming.
