Material Specialist
**$2,000 Sign-On Bonus!**
1st Shift: 7:00am- 3:30pm, Mon - Fri
Our Company
Coating Place is an established pharmaceutical contract manufacturer specializing in Wurster fluid bed processing and delivery system development. We provide our customers with modified and extended release bulk active products through innovative development and manufacturing capabilities with an integrated quality philosophy.
Position Overview
The Material Specialist I is responsible for multiple functions in a cGMP warehouse at Coating Place, Inc. Typical responsibilities will include receiving, staging, material movement, and shipping of lot tracked materials used in Pharmaceuticals, Dietary Supplements, and Food Ingredients. Additional duties will include monthly cycle counts, inventory transactions in ERP software that require proficient computer skills, sanitation (cleaning), use of equipment such as as forklifts, pallet jacks, and pallet inverters. Procedures and documentation requiring strong attention to detail.
Essential Job Functions
  • Warehouse Duties:
    • Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, drum dollies, stretch wrappers, and pallet exchangers.
    • Re-palletize bulk bags and drums, which includes manual lifting throughout the day.
    • Maintain organization of material and solvent warehouses.
    • Handle/process hazardous materials and waste per Coating Place SOPs.
    • Stage materials for use in manufacturing suites and QA sampling per Coating Place SOPs.
    • Clean warehouse storage area per Coating Place SOPs.
    • Stock materials per Coating Place procedures and government regulations.
    • Perform monthly cycle counts.
    • Schedule emptying of trash compactors.
  • Shipping & Receiving Duties:
    • Unloads/loads trucks
    • Inspect and receive incoming materials.
    • Verify Coating Place label application for accuracy.
    • Pick and stage Finished Good shipments.
    • Complete/Prepare documentation as required per CPI procedures.
    • Enter transaction data in ERP System.
  • Regulatory:
    • Follow all Coating Place cGMP and safety practices, policies, and procedures.
    • Employees at Coating Place work with and/or are familiar with the GMP requirements for Food, Dietary Supplements, Pharmaceuticals, or other elements of each.
    • Depending on the position, the employee will be aware of Halal and/or Kosher requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education/Skills/Knowledge Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience operating material handling equipment (pallet jack, pallet exchanger, drum dollies, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail for inspection of materials and accurate documentation.
  • Ability to bend/squat to view or pick up items at waist level or below.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 55 lbs. and move objects weighing up to 220 lbs.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work with desktop computers and software, business systems, and support peripherals.
  • Ability to read, write (legibly), and speak the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and/or clients.
