Coach Director information

What is a coach director?

A Coach Director is a leadership professional responsible for overseeing and managing a team of coaches within an organization, such as a sports club, educational institution, or corporate training department. Their primary duties include developing coaching strategies, mentoring coaches, setting performance goals, and ensuring the coaching staff aligns with organizational objectives. They also handle administrative tasks, evaluate coaching effectiveness, and may be involved in recruitment and training of new coaches. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a coach director, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Coach Director, you need extensive experience in coaching, leadership development, and team management, often supported by certifications such as ICF or relevant degrees. Familiarity with coaching platforms, assessment tools, and performance management systems is typically required. Exceptional communication, emotional intelligence, and strategic thinking are vital soft skills for motivating coaches and fostering organizational growth. These skills are crucial for ensuring effective coaching programs, maintaining high standards, and driving team and individual success.

What are some common challenges faced by a coach director when managing coaching staff across multiple teams?

A Coach Director often oversees several coaches and teams, which can present challenges such as ensuring consistent coaching philosophies, fostering clear communication, and balancing individual team needs with organizational goals. Coordinating schedules, addressing conflicts among staff, and providing ongoing professional development are also frequent hurdles. Successful Coach Directors regularly hold meetings, establish standardized procedures, and create an open feedback culture to address these challenges and support both coaches and players effectively.

LEAD COACH / ASSISTANT FITNESS DIRECTOR
Workout Anytime - Triangle Area
Part-Time or Full-Time (Path to Full-Time for the Right Person)
High Compensation | Leadership Track | Uncapped Opportunity
This Is a Leadership Opportunity - Not a Floor Trainer Job
We have trainers that make 2K per month and trainers that make 6k, coaches are entrepreneurs and we develop a success plan for your career the same way you would design a 12-month program for your client! The ownership group is made up of personal trainers. We understand and respect the grind of a personal training career. Because of that, we believe we provide the most trainer centered compensation plan in the Raleigh market. Flexible scheduling, multi-session commissions and uncapped earning potential to star. We give you the autonomy necessary to do you!
If you are confident in your skillset and willing to put in the work, this role provides uncapped potential. We give you the members, the marketing, the support, the tools, the training and the systems to succeed. If you enjoy helping better people's lives through fitness, are comfortable talking to members and prospects about training and fitness and aren't afraid to ask to be paid for your time, then this may be the perfect role for you!
We're hiring a Lead Coach / Assistant Fitness Director for a high-performing personal training department.
This role is designed for someone with 6-12 months of personal training experience who:
  • Knows they're capable of more

  • Enjoys SELLING personal training

  • Believes they can teach other coaches how to sell effectively
  • Has outgrown their current gym or box
  • Hasn't been given the opportunity to level up
  • Is ready to prove themselves in the right environment

If you're tired of being capped, overlooked, or stuck running sessions with no real path forward - keep reading.
The Opportunity
We currently have multiple established personal training clients ready to be transitioned to a Lead Coach and 3 hungry coaches looking for a leader.
These are real clients, with real history, real expectations, and real trust already built.
You'll be expected to pick up the baton and manage them at a high level, including:
  • Programming and progression
  • Client communication and retention
  • Billing awareness and professionalism
  • Delivering results and continuity in their fitness journey

This is not a "start from zero" role - but it does require ownership.
Who You'll Be Working With
We train at a very high level.
Our coaching environment has included:
  • High-level athletes
  • Individuals preparing for professional sports
  • Clients who expect structure, standards, and results

One of our current coaches has recently been accepted to play professional football this March, and we regularly develop talent that moves on to higher levels.
You'll be stepping into a department with standards, systems, and expectations already in place.
Your Primary Focus (Phase One)
This role is not management on day one.
Your initial focus will be:
  • Building and stabilizing your own client portfolio
  • Taking excellent care of transferred clients
  • Selling and growing your own personal training book
  • Demonstrating consistency, professionalism, and leadership by example

We have:
  • 2,000+ active members using the facility weekly
  • 100+ new memberships sold per month
  • Ongoing advertising and in-house lead flow

If you can coach, communicate, and close - the opportunity is there.
The Leadership Path (Phase Two)
Once you've shown you can:
  • Carry your own book effectively
  • Retain clients
  • Sell confidently and ethically
  • Operate within our systems

This role naturally evolves into greater leadership responsibility, including:
  • Mentoring newer trainers
  • Helping develop the coaching team
  • Playing a larger role in department growth

We already have a strong team of trainers.
We're looking for someone who can earn the right to lead them.
Not a Typical Personal Training Gym
We are not a traditional personal training gym where trainers are limited to selling sessions only.
Our location operates as a full performance and results-driven environment, offering:
  • Personal training packages
  • Supplements and nutrition products
  • Fitness and nutrition plans
  • Body composition scans and assessments
  • Additional performance and accountability services

This allows our trainers to:
  • Better serve each client's individual needs
  • Create more complete solutions for results
  • Earn significantly more through multiple commission streams, not just training sessions

This model is unique to our location and is a major reason our personal training department consistently performs at a high level.
You will be fully trained and supported in learning how to confidently present and sell a range of products across multiple categories, always with the goal of doing what's best for the client.
When clients win, coaches win.
Compensation
We pay very well, but we do not hand anything out.
  • 25%-33% commission per training session
  • Sessions priced up to $100 for 30 minutes
  • 10-25% of gross product revenue
  • High earning potential for coaches who build and retain clients

This is a performance-based environment.
If you believe in yourself, this role can be extremely rewarding.
What We're Looking For
  • 6-12+ months of personal training experience

  • 2+ years sales experience
  • Comfortable training all populations and age ranges
  • Coachable, professional, and accountable
  • Able to learn systems quickly and execute consistently
  • Brings value from past experience without trying to "reinvent everything"
  • Team-oriented, leads by example
  • Hungry for opportunity, not entitlement

Male or female trainers are welcome.
Culture Fit Matters
You'll work closely with ownership and leadership.
You will not be micromanaged.
We expect:
  • Initiative
  • Ownership
  • Execution
  • Reliability

Our mission is simple: help people and make money doing it - the right way.
Important: Read This Carefully
We receive 500+ applications per month, and this position will be filled quickly.
If you believe you are a strong fit:
  • Submit your application
  • Then come in person and introduce yourself
  • Text 919-370-0511 with a quick introduction and confirmation that your application has been submitted.

The people who take initiative always stand out.
Final Word
If you're ready to bet on yourself, with real support, real clients, and real opportunity - we'd be happy to talk and see if this is a mutual fit.
Apply now. Then come in. Don't wait until tomorrow
Compensation: $1,500.00 - $5,000.00 per month
