Job Description Summary

The Controls & IT Co-Op will support both the Controls Engineering and Information Technology in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role provides hands-on experience in automation systems, industrial controls, and IT infrastructure while contributing to continuous improvement, troubleshooting, and system optimization initiatives.

Job Description:

Controls / Automation Support

  • Assist in troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, and automated equipment (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
  • Support machine uptime by helping diagnose electrical and controls-related issues
  • Participate in PLC programming updates and documentation
  • Assist with robot programming and troubleshooting
  • Support preventative maintenance activities on automated systems
  • Help implement continuous improvement and process optimization projects
  • All other duties as assigned

IT Support

  • Provide support for shop floor for PCs, printers, scanners, label machines, radios, etc.
  • Assist with network troubleshooting for connectivity, IP configurations, etc.
  • Support user account management for all team member to also include permissions, access.
  • Help maintain IT documentation, asset tracking, and system backups
  • Assist with software installations, updates, and cybersecurity best practices, and IT4.
  • All other duties as required.

Required Skills and Education

  • Enrolled fulltime in an accredited college pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • Graduation date of May 2027 or later
  • Available to work a minimum 25 hours each week year-round
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Basic understanding of PLCs and industrial automation
  • Familiarity with electrical systems and schematics
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals
  • Experience with Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite
