These roles can help build essential skills, improve job readiness, and sometimes lead to full-time employment after graduation.

What does a co op welding do?

As a Co Op Welding participant, you'll typically gain hands-on experience by assisting with welding fabrication, performing routine maintenance on equipment, and reading technical blueprints under the supervision of experienced welders. You may also be asked to shadow tradespeople, help with quality control checks, and learn proper safety protocols on the shop floor. The role is designed to expose you to various welding processes (such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding) and give you insight into the workflow of a professional welding team. This experience not only enhances your technical skills but also strengthens your ability to work collaboratively and adapt to the industry’s demands.
