Mechanical Engineer Co-Op Duties:
  • Take direction from full-time engineer
  • Perform designs in AutoCAD Inventor
  • Work with Engineers on performing machinery plant layouts and models
    • Mechanical structures
    • Vendor supplied equipment details
  • Become expert in creating rapid prototype models using in-house 3D printers
    • Material selection
    • Developing printing structure
  • Create designs for fixtures and tools to be used in-house during assembly

Electrical Engineer Co-Op Duties:
  • Work with Electrical Engineer on creating drawing package for electrical control cabinet
  • Use AutoCAD to create design package
  • Perform load calculations for machines
  • Interface with assembly team to resolves issues and make corrections to drawings for as-built documentation
  • Collate drawings and component information for machine manual

Chemical Engineer Co-Op Duties:
  • Assist process engineers with customer and R&D trials
  • Apply engineering concepts to perform extrusion process calculations and aid in experiment design
  • Learn how to configure extrusion processes
  • Independent R&D experiment design, execution, and data analysis
  • Operate extruders
  • Gain knowledge of polymer compounding, sheet extrusion, and pipe extrusion
  • Specify new equipment for the Innovation Center
