JOB DESCRIPTION:
QUALITY ENGINEERING CO-OP This co-op position is for a student majoring in Operations, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial and Systems Engineering with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. A co-op in this position will work primarily in the Quality Department.
Job Responsibilities
• Participate in the development and implementation of projects aimed at improving customer satisfaction, quality systems, and operational efficiency
• Monitor, analyze, and report customer and supplier quality metrics
• Participate on product launch teams to complete requirements for quality engineering, including product scorecards, control plans, PFMEAs, and process flows
• Manage assigned customer requirements • Contribute and participate in ISO9000/IATF16949 compliance and auditing
• Complete Gage R&R and Capabilities studies using statistical tools • Develop quality corrective actions as assigned
• Conduct competitive baseline analysis for warranty performance
• Conduct warranty trend analysis (specific product failure analysis of warranty returns)
• Manage the warranty critical failure mode process
• Investigate and contribute to the resolution of customer or supplier issues (potential for travel as required) • Support merger and acquisition processes
• Assist with process improvement projects, including use of six sigma tools and lean and project management skills as required
• Support supplier improvement projects, including VDA audits and supplier evaluations
• Serve as a liaison for Plant Quality, Supplier Quality, Operations personnel, Engineering, and other functional disciplines
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
• Currently attending an accredited college or university
• 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher
• Resourceful - not intimidated by substantial assignments
• Self motivated and able to learn new assignments quickly
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, team-focused environment
• Enthusiastic work approach • Knowledge of statistical tools preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft® Office Tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access/Query

Hours and Location: 40-hour work week on-site in Avon, Ohio (20 miles west of Cleveland) or Huntington, Indiana
