Job description

Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) is seeking a Test Engineering Co-Op to assist with aspects of hardware/software testing related to ensuring that XES products meet functional requirements and specifications. Responsibilities include developing, releasing, and executing testing for X-ES products. You'll be exposed to test infrastructure and development practices and major embedded industry technologies to create solutions in our engineering and manufacturing facility.
This position is full-time and in-person at our Verona, WI facility for a Spring/Summer 2027 co-op (January-August 2027) or a Summer/Fall 2027 co-op (May-December 2027). This typically requires students to take a semester off of school to accommodate.
Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with Linux build systems, bootloaders, python, and bash
  • An ability to speak to an audience (4-8 people).
  • Basic understanding of how to use/operate test equipment (Oscilloscope, Digital Multi Meter, Arbitrary Function Generators, Programmable power supplies, etc).
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex problems systematically.

Required Skills:
  • Has an experience level equivalent to that of a Junior in university enrolled in a Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Biomedical, or Aerospace program.
  • Working towards a Bachelor or Master's degree and must remain as an active student throughout the duration of the co-op.
  • Basic circuit analysis
  • Basic understanding of digital logic
  • Troubleshoot/Debug issues and fix bugs as they arise (hardware- and software-oriented)
  • Organizational skills, that manifest as an ability to concisely document/communicate what was done.
  • Multitasking-oriented mindset
  • Collaborative personality
